February = spring in San Luis Obispo County

Spring comes to San Luis Obispo before the official calendar date. We captured some pictures on various trips around town.

I got Bob to pose in some daffodils beside the road. We found what we call the "paint roller tree" in Cal Poly's Arboretum. I think the plant comes from Australia or New Zealand.

Bob got a close-up of a ladybug on one of the daffodils in our yard. The cherry trees are nearly done blooming in San Luis Obispo, but they're still quite colorful in Santa Margarita, Atascadero, and Templeton.

Last, but not least - we sold our house! The escrow ends March 24th, so we're packing, packing, packing. We're going to drive a 26' moving van across the country, towing our car. Oh boy, a big adventure awaits. More on that later.

Birthday bike ride, hike, and taco

59 years old today. Gasp. Still able to ride a bicycle and hike, however. And afterward, we went to Taco Roco for a taco. Bob ordered a birthday churro for me - notice he photoshopped a flame on the end of it to simulate a birthday candle. Cute. (I suspect Taco Roco would not approve if we lit up one of their churros. San Luis Obispo doesn't allow smoking in restaurants.)

A very good birthday!

Trader Joe's

Note to self: never shop at TJ's 2 hours before the Super Bowl. It was like the day before Thanksgiving! So crowded. Tortilla chips and beer were flying out of that store. We went in to buy milk. I swear. And maybe olive tapenade. And some cottage cheese. Oh, and a couple of Luna bars. But no beer and chips.

Bob is watching the game with Isabella. Ed and and I are reading in the bedroom. I think Ed lost interest after no teams with cat names (Lions, Jaguars, Bengals) progressed to the playoffs.

Have a good week, everyone.
